Guest of Honour 2024

GUEST OF HONOUR – THE HUNGARIAN SAILING ACADEMY

Focus on SAILING!

Starring SAILING

In 2024, the Hungarian Sailing Academy has the honour of being the guest of honour at the Budapest Boat Show.  In this context, the Academy aims to present the experience of sailing in Hungary, and especially the experience of “small boat” sailing, not least the opportunities that the sport can offer to young people. The role of Hungary in the history of Olympic sailing will also be highlighted at the Academy’s central stand.

One Stand – Nine boats – Goals and results

The Academy’s exhibition takes several directions and several activities, forming a kind of “sailing timeline” from the beginnings to the peaks:

  • It addresses the youngest with “sailing games”:
    • try sailing on land with Sailmaker, where an RS QUBA sailing boat will be on display,
    • We will teach you how to tie basic knots with our knot tying wall,
    • test your sailing skills on a sailing quay
  • We will introduce our junior racers, the future Olympians – we have invited junior racers, they will stand together with their boats in front of the public, share their preparation, their goals, their results so far.
  • A special exhibition will showcase the greatest dream of every athlete, the history of Olympic sailing and the people who make us proud.

Plans, ideas, developments

At the stand of the Hungarian Sailing Academy, the Academy’s outsourced application monitoring service, the “SPÜP” open office, will be located, where we will provide application advice and consultation exclusively for MVSZ member organisations and sailing clubs.

Services:

  • Presentation of existing and future tendering opportunities
    • consultation on ongoing tenders
    • consultation on development needs of sailing member organisations

Water – Space – Experience

The Kékszalag PORT will be a prominent part of the Hungarian Sailing Academy’s stand, where we will present the activities related to the port, introduce the PORT as a venue for events and as a base for Hungarian sailing (recreational, competitive). Visitors will also be able to choose from a selection of Blue Ribbon PORT souvenir products.

VIP evening with the Hungarian Sailing Academy

The traditional VIP evening of the Budapest Boat Show will take place this year on Friday evening, 23 February. Exhibitors will have their own programme at their own stand, where they will invite their partners and guests to spend the evening touring the exhibition and spending an evening together at the host’s stand. The Hungarian Sailing Academy will also host its partners for this special evening, with wine and champagne specialities.
