We are delighted to announce that SIRHA Budapest will be jointly hosting the Innovation Product Competition again in 2024!

The goal of the competition is to use the exhibition to enhance the reputation of the best of the innovative products and services introduced to the market by the exhibitors appearing at the thematic professional event in the inter-exhibition period. Just as the SIRHA Budapest exhibition is an international event, so is the innovation competition, allowing the entrance of foreign and domestic exhibitors alike.

Call for Tenders for
the Innovation Product Competition
of SIRHA Budapest 2024

For the sixth time, Hungexpo Zrt. and Trade magazine will be jointly hosting the Sirha Budapest international Innovation Product Competition.

The goal of the competition is to use the exhibition to enhance the reputation of the best of the innovative products and services introduced to the market by the exhibitors appearing at the thematic professional event in the inter-exhibition period. Just as the SIRHA Budapest exhibition is an international event, so is the innovation competition, allowing the entrance of foreign and domestic exhibitors alike.

The first three winners of the various categories will be displayed at the exhibition, and thus visitors can also see the results of the competition.

In order to apply, Entrants must fill out the following tender data sheet. The tender documents must be sent to the sirha-termekverseny@hungexpo.hu email address for valid application.

The tenders received will be evaluated by professional experts and journalists who are approached for this reason. The winners of the various categories will be congratulated on stage after the official exhibition opening.

Entrants will be notified of the results by 23rd February 2024. All entrants will be invited to the award ceremony.

Entry categories:

  1. Food

  3. Baking and confectionery
  4. Technologies (kitchen appliances, baking industry devices, food industry technologies, hygienic technologies, software)
  5. Hotel industry
  6. Packaging industry

Conditions of tender:

  • Only exhibitors of the SIRHA Budapest 2024 exhibition may enter the competition.
  • The product or service entered must be introduced to the market by the Entrant between 16 January 2022 and 31 January 2024.
  • The product or service of the tender must be presented by the Entrant at the exhibition.
  • Entrants must electronically forward their application at least by final deadline date (31 January 2024).
  • The product or service involved in the tender must be represented by a photo attached to the application form.
  • The entry fee must be paid by the application deadline – 13 February 2024 – to Hungexpo Zrt.

Application deadline: With Early Bird discount 15 December 2023.
Final application deadline: 31 January 2024.

Applications received after this date will not be involved in the competition.

Competition entry fee: 130 EUR + VAT/tender with Early Bird discount. 160 EUR + VAT/tender (after 15 December 2023.)

The fee is to be sent to Hungexpo Budapest Kongresszusi és Kiállítási Központ Zrt. to the K&H Bank 10402283-50526554-52511006 account. The details should state that the transfer is the Innovation Product Competition entry fee.

Awards:

First, second and third places will be announced in all categories – depending on the number of entrants.

First place awards:

  • 15% discount from the placement prices valid at the time of application of the SIRHA Budapest exhibition in 2026.
  • Unique handcrafted award
  • Award certificate
  • The images, description and booth number of the first, second and third place winners of the competition will be displayed at a frequented spot of the exhibition.
  • Communication package containing the following: appearances on the exhibition’s website under the Innovation product competition menu; appearance on the scoreboard in the Trade magazine’s 2024/5. or 2024/6-7. issue along with the exhibitor reports; 20% extra advertising discount on advertisements placed in Trade magazine’s exhibition report (the discount cannot be used together with other discounts, and not applicable for the covers)

Second place awards:

  • 10% discount from the placement prices valid at the time of application of the SIRHA Budapest exhibition in 2026.
  • Award certificate
  • The images, description and booth number of the first, second and third place winners of the competition will be displayed at a frequented spot of the exhibition.

Third place awards:

  • 5% discount from the placement prices valid at the time of application of the SIRHA Budapest exhibition in 2026.

In the case of winning multiple awards, we will honor the highest placement price discount for the SIRHA Budapest exhibition. Award values cannot be combined.

Innovation Product Competition winners in 2022:

Packaging

  • I. place: Fulker H+F Kft.
    HandCUP (Hand Cleaner Under Product) The product line of disposable paper cups, containers, and baskets offered by street food vendors and fast-food outlets has been enhanced in such a way that during the production of food storage containers, a individually packaged hand sanitizing wipe has been incorporated into each product. All of this without increasing the dimensions of transportation and packaging.
  • II. place: Zádor Kávé
    Edible corn cup and plate – With the production of this product, the company aims to contribute to people’s daily intake of high dietary fiber, all while enjoying a healthy snack or meal with just a cup of coffee.
  • III. place: ÖKOSYS Zrt.
    Environmentally friendly multi-person trays – Compliant with regulations, these trays are made from materials that can be placed in home compost, providing a stable, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly alternative to aluminum and foam trays. Available in various sizes.

Food

  • I. place: Nestlé Hungária Kft.
    Garden Gourmet Vegan Ground – A vegan ground product that serves as an excellent plant-based alternative to the well-known dishes made with ground meat, whether it’s Bolognese spaghetti, chili con carne, or traditional casseroles.
  • II. place: METRO Kereskedelmi Kft.
    Plant-Based meat alternatives – Offering suitable solutions for nearly every type of dish. These quick-frozen products can be consumed after thawing and approximately 5-10 minutes of heat treatment. They resemble the taste and texture of meat. Gluten-free solutions (except for one product), made using a unique quick-freezing technology and GMO-free ingredients.
  • III. place: Kelet Földgép Kft.
    Exquisitely packaged, sous-vide pigeon meat product that anyone can easily prepare at home, cooking it just like a skilled chef. – As a partner in the National Pigeon Meat Program, our company has embarked on the production of pigeon meat, a long-forgotten superfood, by breeding the most modern pigeon varieties. To preserve the high nutritional values, they employ sous-vide technology, making the preparation not only convenient but also a matter of just a few minutes.

Beverages

  • I. place: Mayer Szörp Kft.
    Mayer-Cornflower premium tonic syrup – The tonic is not marketed ready-to-drink in individual bottles; instead, it is sold as a concentrate. This means it contains no preservatives and uses a tenth as much packaging. 1 bottle produces 25 servings of tonic (2dl each).
  • II. place: ART Water Kft.
    Bambi soft drinks – While the Bambi of the 1950s was made from synthetic ingredients with high sugar content, the new Bambi products have been tailored to meet the demands of today’s consumers, both in terms of appearance and content. They are crafted with natural ingredients and have low sugar content.

Bakery Industry

  • I. place: Baker Street Kft.
    FreeScuits gluten-free biscuit family – With the use of new, special cohesion-enhancing natural plant ingredients, such as fibers, an allergen-free recipe has been developed over several years.
  • II. place: Magura Mag Kft.
    Cirok (Sorghum) dried pasta – Gluten-free dry pasta made with the fewest possible additives from specially bred sorghum.
  • III. place: Ceres Zrt.
    Ceres – Vegetable bread loaf – A loaf of bread made with oat sourdough and enriched with vegetable pieces.

Hotel

  • I. place: Bibo Franchise Kft.
    Zero Waste Program – Reducing environmental footprint in the hospitality industry – The company manufactures and distributes proprietary 100% plant-based, environmentally friendly, biodegradable cleaning agents and hygiene products for industrial users, aiming to reduce the environmental impact in the hospitality sector.
  • II. place: Fulker H+F Kft.
    Linea Umana glassware collection – The wine glasses in this glassware collection closely resemble handcrafted glasses but are actually machine-made. The bowl is pulled from the stem, making it much more flexible while still withstanding the demands of restaurant use.
  • III. place: Epta International Kft.
    Axis – Vertical display showcase recommended for high-level bars and five-star hotels.

Technology

  • I. place: Kende Retail Operation Kft.
    Automated Retail System – An artificial intelligence-based system that operates cashier-less and staff-less shops.
  • II. place: Gastrobot Kft.
    GastroBots – BellaBot and KettyBot – Versatile premium-quality service, advertising, and assistant robots communicating in the Hungarian language.
  • III. place: Coninvest Konyhatechnológia Kft.
    Meiko dishwasher bottle washing attachment – With the increasing popularity of reusable glass bottles in restaurants for environmental reasons, Meiko’s innovation allows for the hygienic washing of these bottles in dishwashers.

Digital Solutions

  • I. place: iBar Experience Kft.
    iBar Stand and Inventory Management Application – Photo-based stand placement with artificial intelligence: simply take a picture of the beverage bottle, and the artificial intelligence will determine the liquid level.
  • II. place: Puratos Zrt.
    Puratos introduces Bakeronline, a platform where bakeries and patisseries can create a personalized webshop. An online platform specifically tailored to the needs of bakers and confectioners.

IT Developments

  • I. place: METRO Kereskedelmi Kft.
    DISH by Metro restaurant software package – DISH can establish the complete online presence of a traditional restaurant within a few hours, including a professional website, integration with Google and Facebook, automatic translation into 18 languages, and an online table reservation system.
  • II. place: Quadro Byte Zrt.
    Proprietary program modules, along with related services, ensure closed-loop sales and payment for those using catering services. The new sales modules of the system, covering the entire dining process from ordering to cooking, provide diners with GDPR-compliant ordering and various online payment options on the MS Azure platform.
  • III. place: Quadro Byte Zrt.
    The program modules assist in the planning, production, and sales process to ensure healthy nutrition (diet, allergens, etc.) for both caterers and diners. The system’s modules, covering the entire catering process from ordering to cooking, provide nutritional, allergen, and age-related values for the meals. It delivers centralized, uniform information in different environments (WEB, Apple, Android).
