The INDUSTRY DAYS and AUTOMOTIVE HUNGARY exhibitions concluded successfully

The INDUSTRY DAYS international industrial trade exhibition and its co-event, AUTOMOTIVE HUNGARY international trade exhibition for automotive industry suppliers, held at the HUNGEXPO Budapest Congress and Exhibition Centre, have come to a successful close. More than 300 companies from 15 countries introduced themselves at the region’s most important industrial exhibition, which was attended by 11,000 trade visitors.
“The two exhibitions not only showcase the diversity and strength of the value chains in industry and the automotive sector, but also confirm that the Hungarian industry is ready to meet the challenges of the future in an innovative, solution-oriented and competitive manner,” said Robert Somogyi, Deputy CEO of the National Innovation Agency, at the opening ceremony. “This exhibition is not just a showcase of modern industry, but also a window into the future of mobility,” he added. Robert Somogyi also talked about the enormous change vehicle manufacturing is about to face. “The future competition in the automotive industry will not be about numbers, but about innovation, intelligent systems, and technological cooperation. This exhibition is more than just a showroom – it is a meeting point, a venue for collaboration and the birth of new ideas,” said the deputy CEO.
Balázs Szilágyi, commercial director of HUNGEXPO, also spoke about cooperation and the importance of connections. The fact that China’s Chongqing province, one of Asia’s most dynamically developing regions, also sent representatives to Budapest is proof of the strength of the exhibition. In an area the size of Hungary, where more than 30 million people live, there are now more than 20 large automotive companies and hundreds of suppliers serving their production. “This incredible economic power is seeking connections in numerous number of places around the world. It makes sense that they go where these connections are clearly outlined – Hungexpo exhibitions, including Industry Days and Automotive Hungary, have been such focus points for years,” said Balázs Szilágyi.
More than 300 companies from 15 countries brought their products and innovations to the exhibitions. The central theme of the exhibition was the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in industrial production. Collaborative robots were shown at numerous stands, performing various manufacturing processes as well as transport, warehousing and packaging tasks, and one of the robots even made spritzers and apple spritzers for visitors. One of the most spectacular programmes this time was the INDUSTRY DAYS Application Zone integrated by Hunify Laboratories, where eight companies and a system integrator collaborated to “build” a complete mini-factory. This integrated different technologies, allowing experts to get a close look at the sub-processes of manufacturing and see the products and services of companies operating in the factory in a realistic environment.
In addition to what was showcased by the exhibitors, a number of professional trade programmes and workshops were staged. Apart from to solutions related to AI and robotics, trade discussions on measurement technology, 3D printing and the industrial application of drones attracted great interest.
The business development seminars of the Hungarian Economic Development Agency, as well as the presentation of the Demján Sándor Programme, aimed at developing SMEs and stimulate investments, turned out to be popular events. The chamber conference and the series of lectures on occupational health and safety and welding technology were also fully booked.
Meetings of business people, where Hungarian suppliers were able to negotiate directly with German and Chinese business partners, were a great success.
Keeping the tradition, the INDUSTRY DAYS GRAND PRIZES were awarded at the opening of the exhibition to the most outstanding innovations selected by a professional jury. Any modern product, process or technical service available on the domestic market that fits the theme of the exhibition was eligible to enter the competition.

The AUTOMOTIVE HUNGARY automotive industry expo, the co-event of INDUSTRY DAYS, was attended by buyers, suppliers and manufacturers. The exhibitors showcased numerous components used in automobile manufacturing, ranging from drive systems and brake systems to the tiniest parts. The vintage cars on display attracted a lot of attention, but one of the most unique exhibits was undoubtedly the first domestic hydrogen fuel cell car at the stand of the Hydrogen Technology Association, a Toyota, along with a CaetanoBus, which has already been tested in the agglomeration of the capital.
Automotive Hungary hosted the B2B Supplier Forum also this year, which offered unique business opportunities for suppliers and buyers. The aim of this private forum was to introduce buyers to supplier companies that have already passed a preliminary quality screening but are not yet known to buyers. At this year’s supplier forum, representatives from 15 manufacturing and 76 supplier companies held a total of 240 meetings.
One of the most exciting elements of the exhibition continued to be TECHTOGETHER also this year. At the 12th engineering competition, teams from nine Hungarian higher education institutions competed against each other. The competition always provides an opportunity for teams of vehicle engineering students to find new sponsors for their developments, while companies looking for new employees can search for talented young people. The competition, organized by autopro.hu, and the accompanying prize of 500,000 forints were won by the BME Motorsport team. Another BME team, Formula Racing Team, came second, while the SZEnergy Team from Széchenyi István University finished third.
