The FeHoVa exhibition concluded successfully!

FeHoVa, the greatest event for hunters, anglers and nature lovers in Hungary, has come to an end. 200 exhibitors from 13 countries brought their novelties to HUNGEXPO Budapest Congress and Exhibition Centre for the largest hunting event in the region and the only fishing exhibition in Hungary in the spring of 2025. More than 4200 entries were received for the FEHOVA-MEOESZ International Dog Show, which was held at the same time as the exhibition!

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 31st FeHoVa Fishing, Hunting and Arms International Exhibition, Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén, chairman of the National Hungarian Hunting Association, said that Hungary has a reasonable and viable arms law and hunting law. As he said, even according to international opinions the Hungarian hunting law is the best.

“Hungary’s wildlife is a natural treasure of outstanding value and we must preserve it for future generations”. This was a statement by Minister of Agriculture István Nagy at the opening ceremony. He also said that last year the legal framework for game management, the rules on the use and storage of hunting weapons and ammunition were revised according to practical aspects. A new feature is that undesirable big game species can be shot in a given hunting area during the hunting season without quantitative limits. According to his assessment, it can now be said that Hungarian game management is sustainable. The success of Hungarian game management and the quality of Hungarian fallow deer is shown by the fact that Hungarian fallow deer trophies have been leading the world ranking for decades, said István Nagy.

Gábor Ganczer, the CEO of Hungexpo Zrt. thanked primarily the professional partners and colleagues for their work. Without them, he said, FeHoVa would certainly not have been be what it is: one of the most popular exhibitions at Hungexpo for decades.

The four-day exhibition was packed with visitors again this year, with hunters and anglers filling the two largest pavilions at HUNGEXPO.

Both traditional and new programs were successful.

In the fishing pavilion, one couldn’t drop a pin at the MOHOSZ Agora, where visitors could meet world and European champions, take photos and listen to their stories. The traditional MOHOSZ angling school, the feeder boat tests and the tiring simulator were very popular.

This year’s novelties for hunters attracted many visitors: the aristocratic halali, the hunting weapons used by the aristocracy in the baroque period; the JAPE outdoor claybird shooting and the exhibition of the works of the well-known hunter, writer and inlay maker Jenő Keszthelyi. Of course, thousands of people came to see the most beautiful trophies of 2022-24 at the Nadler Trophy Exhibition and the exhibition of the extraordinary life of the famous African hunter Dr. Endre Nagy.

On Saturday of the exhibition, as usual, the FeHoVa Cup International Troat Championship, held for the 13th time, was attended by a huge crowd, and this year it was won by Áron Kasper with 86 points. The students of the Mátra Forestry Technical School participated in the cup for the first time. Among them, Dániel Pap achieved the highest score (81 points), winning the Youth Cup title and finishing third in the overall competition.

This year again FeHoVa was host to the Hunting Horn Festival and the XI. Youth Hunting Horn Solo Competition.

As a tradition of a number of years now, the FEHOVA-MEOESZ International WinterDogShow was held at the same time as FeHoVa, and this time 4214 dogs were entered from Hungary and the countries of the region. The exhibition also hosted the National Indoor Archery Championships, with almost 500 athletes taking part.
