The 10th INDUSTRY DAYS and the concurrently held 11th AUTOMOTIVE HUNGARY exhibitions finished in HUNGEXPO Budapest Congress and Exhibition Center. This year, the key topics of Hungary’s largest business and professional meeting were green energy, alternative propulsion systems, new forms of energy storage as well as new solutions in energy efficiency.

Nearly 14 thousand people visited the INDUSTRY DAYS and AUTOMOTIVE HUNGARY exhibitions this year. Coming from 18 countries, 370 exhibitors showcased the latest industrial and automotive developments and trends in the three pavilions of HUNGEXPO Budapest Congress and Exhibition Center.

Held concurrently with the exhibitions, the professional programmes attracted a lot of visitors. Organized by the Ministry for Culture and Innovation as a full-day event, the professional forum “Research and innovation in the service of green transition” ran with a full house, just as Portfolio-MAGE’s Automotive Industry 2023 conference, the E-mobility roundtable as well as the presentations on battery manufacturing and hydrogen propulsion.

Many participants attended DigiLean Association’s presentations and the professional forum of the Hungarian Association of Packaging and Materials Handling, but the plastic industry, labour safety panel discussions and conferences were also highly popular, along with the lecture on Profitable Industrial 3D Printing, which focused on the 3D printing of diverse base materials from polymers to steel.

Traditionally announced each year, the purpose of the GRAND PRIZE is to recognize the best innovative products, procedures and technical services available in Hungary. The prizes were presented in the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

This year’s GRAND PRIZE recipients are: B Consulting Ltd, DMG MORI HEITEC Digital Ltd, Fath Ltd, FANUC Hungary Ltd, M+E Machine Tool Trading Ltd, Oxyma Systems Water and Air Management Technology Ltd and Werth Hungary Ltd. SPECIAL PRIZES were awarded to Filamania Ltd and Jouleing Ltd.

One of the key elements of AUTOMOTIVE HUNGARY was the B2B supplier forum this year again. The purpose of this closed, registration-based forum is to allow buyers to learn more about less known suppliers who have already passed the preliminary qualification phase, as well as meet them personally and potentially do business with them. Over 200 business meetings were conducted between 65 Hungarian suppliers and 16 integrators (buyers) this year, which is a significant business and professional success.

Just as every year since 2014, HUNGEXPO and autopro.hu organized the Techtogether Automotive Hungary engineering competition at the same time with AUTOMOTIVE HUNGARY. The contest allowed vehicle builder engineers coming from various Hungarian higher education institutions to test their skills against each other. This year’s winner was the team of BME Motorsport who took home the prize of HUF 400 thousand. The second place was taken by StudentTecLab ELTE, while Electric Racing Miskolc came in third. Just as every year, the competition gave an opportunity for companies to scout for skilled labour force among the talented young people.
