GROWING BUSINESS INTEREST –
INDUSTRY DAYS – MACH-TECH – AUTOMOTIVE HUNGARY CAME TO A CLOSE

One of the region’s most significant business events concluded with even more deals and B2B meetings than last year. The 13th INDUSTRY DAYS International Industrial Trade Exhibition, the 17th MACH-TECH International Exhibition for Machine Manufacturing and Welding Technology, once again welcomed professionals along with its co-event, the 14th AUTOMOTIVE HUNGARY International Trade Exhibition for Automotive Industry Suppliers, at the HUNGEXPO Budapest Congress and Exhibition Centre.

This year, 370 exhibitors from 22 countries showcased their works at the INDUSTRY DAYS, MACH-TECH, and AUTOMOTIVE HUNGARY exhibitions. The international significance of the event is indicated by the fact that one in four exhibitors came from abroad.  This year’s offerings also reflected the development of the industries, with a focus on topics such as Industry 4.0, automation, robotics, industrial digitalisation, and innovative manufacturing technologies.

One of the biggest attractions was the mini-factory, the Application Zone integrated by HUNIFY Laboratories Kft., which welcomed more than 1,200 visitors over the four days. As the first station of the production line combining the technologies of several companies, Yamazaki Mazak Hungary turned small spinners from metal cylinders, which a robotic arm then moved to the conveyor belt of Tech-Con Hungária Kft., from there to the TRUMPF Hungary Kft. laser marking machine, and then to the ZEISS measurement technology station. The flawless parts were then marked again at the station of Amsy Jelöléstechnikai Kft., and finally, the finished spinners were placed into holders printed using 3D technology by VARINEX Zrt, and from there into boxes, which were sealed by the machine of MOSCA Direct Hungary Kft. This allowed visitors to personally experience the various stages of the manufacturing process in action, as well as explore the offerings and new products of the companies participating in the AppZone.

A number of exhibitors presented their latest developments here at INDUSTRY DAYS for the first time. This year’s focus was on intelligent monitoring systems capable of optimising processes and reducing downtime. Sustainability and environmentally friendly operation are also key objectives. A common feature of these solutions is their modularity and ease of integration.

This year, HUNGEXPO gave again the GRAND PRIZE awards to the innovations deemed best and most outstanding by the expert jury. They could also be viewed by visitors at the exhibition. (Any state-of-the-art product, process, or technical service distributed in Hungary that fit the exhibition’s theme was eligible to enter the competition.) You can read more about the award-winning products here.

The exhibition hosted more than 60 professional events. On the first day, the “From Kőbánya to the Space Industry” made its debut. It is an industrial cluster optimised for the X. district, featuring representatives of the local industry with a history spanning over a century, as well as representatives of global technological innovation. A large crowd listened intently to the presentation by the event’s guest of honour, Tibor Kapu, an astronaut of the HUNOR programme. Tibor Kapu spoke about his years of preparation and his spaceflight.

On the stage located in Pavilion A, numerous discussions and workshops were held on topics such as industrial cooperation, robotics, and energy efficiency and sustainability in industry.

In addition, the exhibition hosted numerous professional forums and training sessions. These covered topics such as labour safety, digitalisation, and energy. A highlight among the programmes was the Plastics Industry Conference, which addressed the most important current issues affecting the plastics industry. The conference titled “E-mobility: A Different Perspective” was organised by the Budapest and Pest County Chamber of Engineers; it also served as a professional continuing educational programme in mechanical engineering, transportation, electrical engineering, and energy.

At the AUTOMOTIVE HUNGARY trade fair, held for the 14th time this year as a co-event of INDUSTRY DAYS – MACH-TECH, buyers, suppliers, and manufacturers related to the automotive industry participated. The trade exhibition, which plays an important role in both Hungary and the region, traditionally offers industry and automotive industry players a unique opportunity to meet and build new business relationships. This is why the B2B supplier forum organised by the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) and the Hungarian Automotive Industry Association (MAGE) attracted even more attention than last year, with numerous deals being concluded. This time, procurement representatives from 18 companies (OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers) and representatives from 76 supplier companies held a total of 262 meetings, clearly demonstrating the event’s growing significance.

Once again this year, AUTOMOTIVE HUNGARY served as the venue for Techtogether, the traditional annual competition for engineering students, which attracted entries from nearly every higher education institution in the country offering engineering training programmes Participants worked together with industry professionals on real-world industrial tasks related to artificial intelligence, robotics, automation, and PLC programming. Similar to previous years, in a close competition featuring 140 students, the Formula Racing team from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics won again in 2026.

Concurrently with INDUSTRY DAYS, Hungexpo hosted the Transport Research Arena (TRA), Europe’s leading conference on transport research and innovation focused on green mobility and the digitalisation of transportation, initiated by the European Commission and key professional organisations.
