HUNGEXPO’s hosted event Euroskills Budapest 2018 wins prestigious recognition

Euroskills Budapest 2018, HUNGEXPO’s biggest event last year wins Silver Prize at the ‘Oscar gala of events’, Global Eventex Awards.

The winners were announced on March 26, 2019, and in the Educational Event category, EuroSkills Budapest 2018 won an outstanding second place. The Global Eventex Awards is one of the largest international event competitions that have been awarded the most outstanding events since 2009 in six different categories. In 2018, a total of 331 events were nominated in 42 subcategories, from over 80 countries worldwide. When awarding prestigious recognition, design, creativity and innovative ideas, quality of service, efficiency and achievements were taken into account. The members of the jury consisted of recognized and experienced experts and experts such as David Adler, founder of BizBash, Laura Schwartz, Clinton Administration Director, Stefania Conti-Vecchi, EVENTagist founder, or Thomas Wahl, President of the Danish Marketing Association.

Last year’s EuroSkills competition, the European Championship for Young Professionals, was held on 26-28 September 2018 at Hungexpo Budapest. organized by the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce. At the three-day event, visitors were able to attend the competitions, conferences, lectures and professional events, and visitors had the opportunity trying different professions.

At the host venue HUNGEXPO the total area, six halls and an event tent, altogether nearly 60,000 square meters covered space were used. The competitions took place in five event halls in 180-1600sqm size competition areas totalling 40thousand square meters. The conferences were organized in two meeting rooms 100pax and 280pax The exhibition totalled 6000 square meters with 45 exhibitors –sponsors, member countries and government bodies.

At the event in Budapest, nearly 525 competitors from 28 countries showed their skills in 37 professions, with around 85,000 visitors. In the international competition, the Hungarian team’s competitors won 17 races, 3 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze and 9 excellence medals.
