RE:BROWN – Remediation and Brownfield Investments

RE:BROWN brings together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, and NGOs to explore the future of remediation and brownfield redevelopment in Hungary and across the EU.

The conference highlights medium- and long-term protection measures aligned with the European Commission’s New Soil Strategy and related EU environmental policies, showcasing key results and developments since their introduction. Participants will gain insight into new legislation and regulatory progress adopted since the 2024 RE:BROWN conference, alongside cutting-edge technologies, testing methods, and international best practices.

The event offers a unique forum to discuss current challenges and opportunities in the remediation of contaminated sites—covering strategic goals, legislative and implementation tasks, and the transformation of abandoned industrial, commercial, military, and transport areas into new, sustainable uses.

The program is developed in close cooperation with legislators, industry stakeholders, and NGOs.
Speakers include representatives of relevant state secretariats, NICOLE, Common Europe, and leading Hungarian and international remediation experts.
