Founded in
1967, Hungexpo has been a committed and professional organiser of exhibitions, trade
fairs and conferences from the beginning. Thanks to its extensive international
contacts and network of representatives, it is the leading exhibition and
conference organiser in Central and Eastern Europe. The commercial sales of
Hungexpo Budapest Congress and Exhibition Centre and its services is another
important pillar of the company’s operations.

The privatisation of HUNGEXPO in 2005 marked a new chapter in the company’s history. Joining the French GL events Group not only contributed to the development of the venue but also helped strengthen its position in the international events market. Since then, the HUNGEXPO Budapest Congress and Exhibition Centre has hosted numerous prestigious international conferences, congresses, exhibitions and large-scale corporate events.

Notable events include the UEFA Congress, ITU Telecom World and Bocuse d’Or Europe, which was held in Budapest in both 2016 and 2022.

In recent years, the list of international references has continued to grow. In 2023, HUNGEXPO hosted the Congress of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) and the World Health Organization (WHO) Ministerial Conference on Environment and Health. In 2024, the European Congress of Psychiatry (EPA), the ISUOG World Congress and a large-scale show by KEVIN.MURPHY, an internationally recognised professional haircare brand, also chose HUNGEXPO as their venue. In 2025, the EuroFinance international finance conference joined the list of prestigious events.

HUNGEXPO’s activities, however, extend beyond conferences and exhibitions. Its film division, HUNGEXPO Studio, offers professional filming locations and related services for Hungarian and international film productions. Its versatile studios, exhibition halls and outdoor areas provide ideal settings for filming feature films, television series and commercials. Over the past decade, HUNGEXPO has hosted numerous American, Hungarian and international productions, further strengthening Budapest’s role in international film production.

The revitalisation programme, completed in 2021, has resulted in the renewal of Hungexpo’s pavilions, the construction of two new exhibition pavilions and a world-class congress centre. The capital and the country have been enriched with a state-of-the-art exhibition and conference venue that meets all needs, which further strengthens Hungexpo’s market leadership in the country and the region. In 2019, CEO Gábor Ganczer was awarded the Budapest Prize in recognition of his innovative leadership in the commercial and tourism life of the capital.

The renewed
HUNGEXPO Budapest Congress and Exhibition Centre offers a European-standard
environment for exhibitors, conference organisers and visitors.

Address: H-1101 Budapest Albertirsai út 10.
