The first large-scale exhibition of 2022 at the Hungexpo\nBudapest Congress and Exhibition Centre is closed.<\/strong> <\/strong>Although the\nvisitor numbers of the 40th AGROmashEXPO were lower than usual \u2013 due to the\nepidemic \u2013, nearly 200 satisfied exhibitors and fifteen thousand visitors\nconfirmed the organizers\u2019 decision that it was time to return from the virtual\nworld to the real exhibitor space.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A decades-long tradition broked in 2021, when HUNGEXPO’s\nfirst exhibition of the year, the most significant meeting point of Hungarian\nagriculture, could only be organized in a virtual space because of the\nCOVID-19. This is why this year’s event was especially important, according to\nthe organizers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMost of\nour exhibitors noticed that although the epidemic closed one door, it opened\nanother. Or so to speak: they were brave enough to adapting cleverly their\nappearance to the circumstances. They reappeared fully armed to their customers\nand partners.\u201d<\/em> said G\u00e1bor Ganczer<\/strong>, CEO of HUNGEXPO,\nat the opening ceremony of the exhibition. He added that the renewal of HUNGEXPO, which ended last year, will allow\nexhibitors to be received in an exhibition area twice as large as before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The majority of the exhibitors also confirmed the\ndecision of the organizers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe were\nlooking forward to attending the exhibition. We wondered if that farmers would\ncome. Based on the experience of four days, we can already say that we had a\npositive experience in this regard. It is true that there were fewer visitors\nthan in previous exhibitions, but those who came were interested and many\nturned to colleagues for a business offer. I am sure that purchases will be\nrealized as well soon. In retrospect, it is a good idea that we have come\u201d<\/em> said L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Hatala<\/strong>, DM-Ker\nNyrt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reinhardt\nKappis<\/strong>, Sales Director of FrigorTec GmbH<\/strong> in Austria, who took\npart in the exhibition, emphasized that they had chosen to attend due to the\nwide range of AGROmashEXPO\u2019s exhibitors and the large number of international\nvisitors, and that they would definitely return to Budapest next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the hits of this year’s exhibition was the stand\nof Marton Genetics from Martonv\u00e1s\u00e1r. With the dismantling exhibition, including a real spaceship and the\nparticipation of the first Hungarian astronaut, Bertalan Farkas, it was shown\nthat Hungarian agriculture and the related innovations and patents represent\nspace technology in many respects. \u201cOur company\ngroup made the best decision to participate in the 40th AGROmashEXPO. We\nrepresented our company\u2019s ideology and we supported the success of the\nexhibition as well. Our participation in the event was a great success and we\nreached all of our goal formulated before\u201d <\/em>said Dr. Zolt\u00e1n Balla<\/strong>, Head of\nGovernment and Corporate Relations at Marton Genetics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zsolt\nFeldman<\/strong>, State Secretary of the Ministry of\nAgriculture, said at the opening of the exhibition: Hungarian agriculture has\nbegun to catch up substantially with its competitors in recent years. \u201cThis is also indicated by the fact that\nwhile it reached 41 per cent of the EU average productivity in 2010, it has now\nimproved to 66 per cent. The Hungarian agriculture can be the winner of the\nfollowing years, due to the significant sources which base the improvement. The\ntripling of rural development subsidies has opened up new dimensions for farmer\u201d\n<\/em>said the Secretary of State, adding that developments and applications to\nsupport digital solutions will continue to take precedence in the subsidy\nstrategy for 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the President of the Hungarian Chamber of\nAgriculture (HCA), the development of agricultural technology is extraordinary,\nespecially compared to the fact that farmers have gived over almost the same\nknowledge from generation to generation for centuries. Bal\u00e1zs Gy\u0151rffy<\/strong> added that he considers it an important task of the\nchamber to show innovations to producers so that they can improve their\nproductivity and thus gain more and more income.<\/p>\n\n\n

Successful\nprofessional programs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 40th AGROmashEXPO offered a great number of\nprofessional programs. Outstanding among these was the traditional field\nprofessional day of the Hungarian Grain Producers’ Association, where\nwell-known agricultural experts discussed the challenges facing agriculture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Agricultural Marketing and Media Day of the Magyar\nMez\u0151gazdas\u00e1g Kft., and the “What grows on the net?” marketing\nconference organized by the Agroinform.hu attracted many people again this\nyear. The several professional roundtable discussions got special attention,\nincluding the Agricultural Economics Forum of the Portfolio Group, the\nconference on organic farming of the Hungarian Research Institute of Organic\nAgriculture (\u00d6MKi), and the podium discussion on changes in agricultural laws\nby the Magyar Mez\u0151gazdas\u00e1g Kft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first time, the exhibition featured the NAK\nTechLab, the long-term innovation program of the Hungarian Chamber of\nAgriculture, which focuses on the digital modernization of Hungarian\nagriculture. The aim of the program is to support the efficiency of Hungarian\nagriculture with the help of digitalization solutions through various and yet\ninterconnected programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the spectacular demonstrations of the PREGA AgRobot\nShow, participants were able to see the most exciting developments in\nagricultural robotics. Visitors were also able to get to know the current\ntrends of Hungarian machine manufacturing thanks to the exhibitors of the\nHungarian Association of Agricultural Machinery Manufactures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year a large number of applications were received\nfor the Innovation Award Domestic again. The main evaluation criteria included\nthe novelty of the product, its impact on the environment, the innovative role\nof the product in agriculture and the value of its applicability in practice. The winners, selected by a jury of prominent\nrepresentatives of Hungarian agriculture, could receive their prizes on the\nopening day of the event. (Grand prize and special prize products were on display at the exhibition.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
