Strong Interest in the AGROmashEXPO and Agr\u00e1rg\u00e9pShow Exhibition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the most successful agricultural exhibitions of recent years was held between 21\u201324 January<\/strong> at the HUNGEXPO Budapest Congress and Exhibition Centre<\/strong>. The 44th AGROmashEXPO and Agr\u00e1rg\u00e9pShow<\/strong> once again welcomed almost all of the most significant agricultural machinery distributors and manufacturers<\/strong>. The organisers placed special emphasis on the sectors of viticulture and winemaking<\/strong>, as well as livestock farming<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 222 exhibitors from 16 countries<\/strong> participated in this year\u2019s AGROmashEXPO and Agr\u00e1rg\u00e9pShow. Visitor numbers approached 35,000<\/strong>, with every tenth visitor arriving from abroad. These figures clearly demonstrate the exhibition\u2019s importance within the Central and Eastern European region<\/strong>. This year\u2019s key focus areas were digitalisation<\/strong>, precision, data-driven solutions<\/strong>, and sustainability<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These trends were also highlighted by G\u00e1bor Ganczer, CEO of HUNGEXPO<\/strong>, in his opening speech. He emphasised that modern machinery is no longer just steel and engines, but also data, services and networks<\/strong>.
\u201cIn a network, one cannot remain isolated. Here and now, HUNGEXPO proves that we do not only talk about cooperation \u2013 we organise it. Our commitment is simple: we connect those who develop, those who manufacture and those who trade with those who use these solutions. Our key performance indicator is not the number of visitors, but the number of business meetings,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recently concluded exhibition confirmed this approach: exhibitors reported growing interest and \u2013 even more importantly \u2013 a significantly higher number of concluded business deals<\/strong> compared to previous years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The importance of cooperation and collaboration was also underlined in the opening address by Zsolt Hars\u00e1nyi<\/strong>, President of the National Association of Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Dealers (MEGFOSZ)<\/strong>. During the opening ceremony, he announced that MEGFOSZ and the National Association of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers (MEGOSZ)<\/strong> are joining forces to represent Hungarian agricultural machinery even more effectively.
The newly established Agricultural Machinery Alliance<\/strong> already demonstrated its strength at this year\u2019s exhibition, presenting hundreds of machines across a large exhibition area<\/strong>.
\u201cWe are proud that innovations from last November\u2019s Agritechnica exhibition in Hanover were included in the selection, allowing Hungarian farmers to see them here in Budapest for the second time in Europe,\u201d said Zsolt Hars\u00e1nyi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Gy\u00f6rgy Zsolt Papp<\/strong>, President of the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK)<\/strong>, 2026 will be a challenging year<\/strong>. In addition to the ongoing challenges faced by agriculture, European farming must also confront decisions made in Brussels that may threaten its future.
\u201cFarmers have the knowledge to produce food, but they need subsidies in order to do so in a sustainable way,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Support schemes will not only remain in place but will also be expanded<\/strong>. This was highlighted by J\u00f3zsef Viski<\/strong>, State Secretary for Agricultural and Rural Development Subsidies at the Ministry of Agriculture<\/strong>, in his opening address. He described 2026 as a year of development and construction<\/strong> for agriculture, with the ministry planning to launch several new calls for applications and, if necessary, introduce extraordinary measures to support producers. He added that horticulture and damage mitigation<\/strong> will receive particular attention, while significant funding will also be allocated to young farmers<\/strong>, infrastructure development<\/strong>, and the promotion of agricultural cooperation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Successful Professional Programmes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For years, AGROmashEXPO and Agr\u00e1rg\u00e9pShow have been not only a showcase for the latest machinery and technologies, but also a forum shaping the future of the agricultural sector. This year\u2019s event once again featured numerous conferences and roundtable discussions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Particular interest surrounded the Field Crop Professional Day<\/strong> organised by the National Association of Grain Producers<\/strong>. Presentations by the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP)<\/strong>, MEGFOSZ<\/strong>, the Corn Circle Association<\/strong>, and many other organisations were also highly successful, offering participants up-to-date information and first-hand insights into the latest agricultural trends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A key element of this year\u2019s exhibition was Hydrogen Open 2026<\/strong>, a programme series focusing on the energy solutions of the future. Organised by the Hungarian Hydrogen Technology Association<\/strong>, the programme focused on hydrogen as a promising alternative for renewable energy storage and emission-free operation<\/strong>, as well as on the production and storage of biogas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition provided a unique platform for direct dialogue<\/strong> between manufacturers, developers, educational institutions and farmers, facilitating knowledge exchange and the launch of new collaborations. The event\u2019s key educational partner, the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE)<\/strong>, participated with numerous lectures and demonstrations, including the presentation \u201cTrends in Agricultural Engineering Technologies \u2013 From Tractors to Artificial Intelligence\u201d<\/em>, addressing the defining directions of the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

National and International Product Development Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within the framework of the AGROmashEXPO and Agr\u00e1rg\u00e9pShow, the National and International Product Development Awards<\/strong> were presented, recognising innovative and state-of-the-art agricultural developments from recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2025, the highest number of entries were submitted in the International Grand Prize \u2013 Mechanisation<\/strong> category. An increasing number of innovations featured the application of artificial intelligence<\/strong>, significantly supporting users\u2019 work while also contributing to environmental protection. Special attention was given to technical solutions addressing the challenges of climate change<\/strong>, particularly in the field of next-generation seed drills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The submitted entries covered an exceptionally wide spectrum: from tractors and telescopic loaders<\/strong> to drones, balers, seed drills, soil cultivation equipment, fertiliser spreaders<\/strong>, and various smart solutions<\/strong>, complemented by input products. As a novelty this year, an animal health-related feed supplement<\/strong> was also presented among the entries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From this diverse and technically advanced field, the professional jury selected the most outstanding innovations.
