In the fresh produce market, predictable supply and attractive produce are essential, which can be achieved through regular irrigation even if the average annual precipitation typical in Hungary does occur. Depending on the crop, there are specific periods when water is indispensable for successful fruit set and for producing high-quality yields. This goal can sometimes be achieved with just a few well-timed irrigation events, as in the case of grapes, where irrigation is still not common practice in Hungary.
